About

I am Ahmad Hakroosh, a software architect and engineering leader based in Haifa, Israel. For more than twelve years I have designed distributed systems, cloud-native platforms and high-throughput backends for companies ranging from an early-stage fintech to a marketplace with millions of users and a telemetry platform that ingests over 500,000 events per second.

This blog is where I write down what actually happened: the architecture decisions that held up, the ones that did not, and what I would do differently. If you want the short version of my background, it is on my website.

What I write about

Distributed systems and event-driven architecture. Kafka, NATS, partitioning, backpressure, idempotency, and the operational habits that keep a streaming platform alive at scale.

Microservices and cloud-native platforms. Decomposing monoliths without stopping delivery, Kubernetes-based development environments, CI/CD that gets deployments from hours to minutes, and the trade-offs behind each choice.

Agentic AI software delivery. How AI coding agents change the way software gets built: planning work an agent can execute, keeping architecture and tests as the guardrails, reviewing agent output, and where human judgment still has to sit. Modern software development is becoming a collaboration between engineers and agents, and I write about what that looks like on real codebases rather than in demos.

Engineering leadership. Growing a team from two engineers to thirteen, running architecture reviews across thirty engineers in six countries, hiring, and building a culture of ownership.
